Dan Hendriksen Golf

Dan Hendriksen is a working club pro at Churston Golf Club in the South West of England, and since December 2016 he has taken a camera along for most of it.

He calls the channel a golfer's journey, and the goal on his About page is simple: to "help inspire people to learn, play and enjoy the game." Close to ten years and more than 1,600 videos later, that adds up to over 25 million views and about 53,000 subscribers. He also hosts the Locker Room Golf Podcast, where he asks people across the golf industry how they ended up in the job they do.

There is a weekly course vlog and a Sunday Morning Show, but the series to start with is Pro vs Pro. Dan takes on fellow PGA professionals on courses worth seeing, like the new Craigtoun course at St Andrews, sometimes with a twist, like the match where each of them could carry only four clubs. In between he tests kit, from the Shot Scope LM1 launch monitor to a set of intermediate irons he bought for £300 on eBay.

It feels like a good day out with a mate who happens to be a pro.

We featured Dan on September 22 for Pro vs Pro against Steve Johnston, another pro with a YouTube channel, on Steve's home patch at Dumbarnie Links, 25 minutes south of St Andrews. The two had recorded a podcast together just before they teed off. Two coaches who can actually play, on a links most people haven't seen yet.
