Danny Elder

Danny Elder has one rule for his channel: he ranks every course he plays. His bio says he is showcasing the best of Scottish golf, and it adds that he is a plus 4 golfer.

He films it all as full rounds. There are 185 videos on the channel now, with more than 375,000 views and about 11,000 subscribers. In June he shot an 8 under 60 at Monifieth Golf Links, which Golf Today called one of the best rounds in the YouTube golf handicap tracker this season, and MyGolfSpy had him at plus 4.4 in its September rankings. Those are tracker estimates, not an official handicap.

Each course is scored across five categories and placed on the Danny Elder Golf Scottish Golf Course Leaderboard, which gives the videos an ending: you find out where it landed. The famous names are in there, Royal Portrush at the 2025 Open venue is one of his most watched at about 14,900 views, and so are the cheaper ones, including the Burnside course at Carnoustie and public courses.

Expect a full round, honest scoring, and a leaderboard that moves.

We featured him on October 10 for Glasgow Gailes, on the Ayrshire coast. He says it "might just be one of the most underrated links golf courses in Scotland," plays all 18 holes, and then puts a score on it.
