Nine holes, under 30, anywhere in the world

JapesGolf is JP, a Miami golfer whose channel bio lists a +6.2 handicap. A plus handicap means better than scratch, and the whole channel is built around giving that skill a hard number to chase.

The channel has 18,100 subscribers, 160 videos and more than 14 million views. The series that built it is Break 30, where JP tries to shoot under 30 on nine holes. An early one is from November 2025, a white tees attempt by himself. Since then he has taken it to Nevis, to a Costa Rican jungle with Paul Chaplet, and to Streamsong Red.

His most watched regular video is the Nevis round, Can I Break 30 Between A Volcano And The Ocean?, at about 145,000 views. Next is a try at breaking par on the TPC Blue Monster, at about 66,000. His Shorts go bigger, with JAPES VS TOUR PRO at more than 327,000 and THE LONGEST PAR 4 IN FLORIDA at more than 189,000.

The long videos run 17 to 25 minutes. He also tries to make the cut at PGA Tour events and plays match play against other creators, and a December video at Old Palm Golf Club in Palm Beach Gardens pits him, from the tips, against a 6 handicap playing the front tees.

We featured him on October 18 for episode five of Break 30, on the Links nine at Bay Harbor Golf Club in Michigan. The course runs along Lake Michigan near Petoskey and was designed by Arthur Hills, and his description calls it one of the most scenic stretches of public golf in Michigan.
