A pro baseball player on a 50 state golf run

Luke Savage's YouTube bio is two lines long: "Professional Baseball Player. Part Time Golfer." Right now the second line is doing a lot of the work.

On September 27 he set off to play a golf course in every state on 50 straight days, to find the coolest course in America. Day one was Moose Run in Alaska. Then came Pumpkin Ridge in Oregon, Chambers Bay in Washington and Rock Creek Cattle Company in Montana, with a new course and a new video every day. Good Good happen to be doing 50 states at the same time, and he leaned into it with a Short called Racing against Good Good.

It is a fundraiser too. He wants to raise more than $1 million for Play Yellow, the Children's Miracle Network Hospitals program run with Jack and Barbara Nicklaus and the PGA Tour, and he is putting in a cent of his own for every new follower. The campaign runs until November 24.

The channel has been around since 2019, with 140 videos, more than 5 million views and about 11,300 subscribers. Most of it is short and quick. His biggest hit is a Short called Secret Trick to Throwing Harder, at around 559,000 views, and his Every bogey I eat a ... series, where a bad hole means eating something on the course, has its own following. The steak one is close to 300,000.

So expect a ballplayer who is upfront about being a part time golfer: course reviews, food forfeits, the odd baseball clip, and for the next few weeks, a daily road trip across the country.

We featured him on October 1 for day four in Montana. Follow along, and every follow puts a cent toward the hospitals.
